After some months go by, Ken gets right with God and leaves his old life behind to reclaim his family. he moves back to Forest Lake, Ontario. Here he becomes the police Chief Superintendent of the Forest Lake DETACHMENT. AUTHOR'S NOTE. He is the Forest Lake OPP detachment.)
Martha remains with her husband, Bradan, along with their two sons and one daughter. Bradan gets right with God as well. Three years after Ken, he returns to Forest Lake to start out in the Ontario Provincial Police(OPP) detachment as First Constable. Together, they work at keeping the area a safe place to raise children and to live. This was their dream from boyhood. Together they work on relationships with God and families.
Author's Purpose:
To show the mercy and power of God to forgive and rebuild families and lives of the backslidden
Themes:
1/Repentance.
2/ Rebuilding relationships.
3/ Rebuilding dreams.
Thesis: God is always willing to bring the prodigal home.
I liked the third book, although I hated to see the elder Turehues die. I rejoiced with the characters because their salvation was secure. A great ending and well put together.
